Cute little spot at the northern dead of Los Robles and Woodbury Rd. In Altadena (though the zip code is Pasadena). I went this past Sunday for the Book Swap that was advertised on Eventbrite... this was located in the breezeway outside, not inside of the actual bookstore. I did go into the bookstore and they had a variety of genres and little nick-nacks for bibliophiles to purchase. I didn't partake of the Boba (perhaps another visit) but I did have a nice walk around. Parking lot is tight here, but know there is parking on the back side of the building off Los Robles. I must mention that there are a few restaurants in this corner and they smelled delicious! This location does a lot of activities in the community be sure to check their monthly calendar and IG account. Respectfully Reviewed.

Dyn - book & Boba shop has delicious tea and cookies. This shop is such a nice environment for getting work done! I love how this shop is all about community. The books are written by all types of authors. With some local authors who actually come by the shop! I definitely recommend stopping by! My favorite drink is the blueberry milk tea 🙂 🧋

So glad I came here!! One of the best milk teas I've ever had (I got the banana and brown sugar together and it was the perfect blend!). Also such a thoughtfully curated selection of books, lots of Asian authors and local authors to choose from. This isn't your Target/B&N mass marketed stuff. These are titles that you might not have seen otherwise, which deserve a platform as they are great reads from all genres. Plus lots of good bookish trinkets!

Super cute cafe! Not only are the drinks yummy, but the vibes are immaculate. Casual bookstore atmosphere where you can drink your lattes and bobas and either chat with friends or read a book. Good range of genres from what I can tell. Clean space, and the owner is super friendly! Definitely worth a stop.

Blue

This store has books along with boba. It also has some events centered around books, crafts and anime/manga. I went to one of their anime events for the first time and we had questions to lighten the mood and talk about our favorite anime. One of my favorites was a psychologically realistic anime about bullying. It's a very bloody anime and the host knew I liked it since I talked about it a little at the beginning. We talked about it later in the event for a minute and all she did was say how she hated it because of the blood. There was a question right after about anime people wouldn't recommend and the host said my anime's title lol. The conversation then shifted away from it. That was the only anime mentioned for that question in the entire event. The way she said it abruptly and suddenly was kind of disrespectful. It was pretty rude- especially when there was a short, awkward silence afterwards with 10+ people all sitting around a single table. I'm an introverted guy so I don't really like speaking up too much in front of a group which made it worse. Didn't know the meeting would be like this. It was full of energetic, sometimes aggressive but playful, conversations and arguments. But what the host did was just not good. If you want to shut your brain off and watch an anime to be entertained and see beautiful things, then you can complain about not liking something just because of the violence- but it wouldn't be an intellectual opinion. It's a highly rated anime for a reason. It talks about bullying and trauma. It's fine to not like it, but to say that you wouldn't recommend it so rudely and abruptly as a host in front of a group of people when it's one of the participant's favorites is just not nice. I kept quiet out of respect when people mentioned anime I didn't like. If people are taking it all in as a joke, it's ok. Otherwise you should stop because the other guy doesn't like it. That's one of the flaws of the anime community: people are just overly aggressive sometimes and disrespectful about your favorite series and characters. They don't care if they're rude when talking about your favorites even when you were nice when talking about theirs. Another bad experience was when I tried buying a drink downstairs and asking about the event, the cashier seemed to feel uncomfortable around me even though I was polite. No idea why, but clearly I'm not wanted there. That's ok, I won't go back. Not really a store I'd recommend to others if you care about people being kind and respecting your opinions.
