Derek LunaIt’s a good store if you like CDs, however the record selection is small. The customer service is terrible. My friend and I walked in today, said hello and asked how the guy sitting at the entrance counter was doing and his response was uninviting. He wasn’t friendly at all for questions. Wouldn’t come back.
Crystal RayeI lpved this place ! They had alot of good selections of vinyl to peruse. They also have cd's, cassettes, and VHS tapes. I need to go back soon!!
Fang ChenPricing is often noticeably above typical retail for RSD. For example, a Vince Guaraldi title was $70, and I’ve previously seen single LPs around $45. However, service during RSD was the main issue. The setup and pacing of the line make it hard to inspect records or make careful decisions before reaching the register, so it’s understandable that customers put items back. I did so myself but followed store etiquette by returning items to the bins and staying out of others’ way. While I was patiently waiting at the register, another employee was having a lengthy conversation with a customer. During that time, I was called out for “breaking protocol,” with the cashier stating this in a way that suggested I should accept the delay. I’ve attended multiple RSD and RSD Black Friday events and am familiar with store procedures, so this felt unnecessary and unwarranted. There was also a simple change error during checkout that I had to point out before it was corrected. While having it corrected, I was treated as though I was responsible for holding up the line. Overall, I think clearer pricing, more consistent customer service, and more even treatment of customers during busy events would significantly improve the experience.
Carl Joshua LamonioTitle: Friendly Service, Organized Store, but Initial Awkwardness Review: I recently visited this store to buy a CD, and the guy at the counter was really nice and helpful. The store is somewhat organized, making it easy to find what you're looking for. However, the initial experience can be a bit awkward as nobody greets you when you walk in. It would be great if they could improve on the welcoming aspect. Overall, a positive experience once you engage with the staff.
Jackie LeeWhen you need to find records in the SGV area, this is probably one of the last great music stores. My husband goes to this place pretty often to get his fix of second-hand records-- in fact, this is probably the first record store he went to back in middle school. You can probably spend hours bargain hunting, or just admiring all the music played in this store. They have a big selection of classical music-- more my flavor. Check the hours before you come thought because they open a little later and were closed last time I was here in the morning.
