This used to be my photographer’s favorite ramen spot, and I hadn’t been back in a long time. I would call this the closest thing to Ichiran Ramen in Los Angeles. Ichiran is still the best ramen we’ve ever had anywhere in the world, but sadly, there isn’t one in LA. This place comes pretty close. The flavor and quality are always consistent. It’s the kind of restaurant you can keep coming back to without thinking too much. It’s usually pretty busy, which is probably a good sign. My only complaint is that the portion is a little small, and an extra serving of noodles costs another $2.50. Come on, noodles shouldn’t feel like a luxury upgrade. 😂 Other than that, everything is solid. Definitely one of our go-to ramen spots in LA.

Stopped by Ramen Tatsuneya in Old Pasadena for Mother’s Day and tried vegan ramen and fried chicken wings for the first time—it was great! I really enjoyed the bowl, and the atmosphere inside is super nice. The staff were really welcoming and good at what they do, too. Posted some pics of the food! 🍜

First time eating here and I really liked the ramen. I've been to many ramen spots and think this place is up there in terms of quality. When we arrived we had to wait like 5 minutes to get seated because it was PACKED. There was a long line. The place was also very small so that didn't help either. We sat down and I ordered a Spicy Miso Extra Chashu which was a pretty good portion size. The broth was great and so was the meat. It didn't have too many mushrooms though. We also ordered 6 Teriyaki Chicken Wings and let me tell they were great! I would come back just for the wings! That's how good they were! Just be careful because they served them piping hot. They were a lil bit sweet but mostly savory. Definitely recommend getting these. I ordered a Sayuri Nigori Sake and it was good but definitely overpriced. Now when it comes to service it was ok. They forgot to bring us our 2nd order of teriyaki wings. And they definitely wanted us to leave ASAP which is understandable since they had a really long line. I will say though that they brought our ramen very quickly. All things considered I would come here again.

This is BY FAR the best ramen I have ever had, having tried many ramen restaurants. The atmosphere is lively, and the decor is very nice. I ordered the gyoza as an appetizer, and they had a nice crunch as they should with a strong flavor. I also ordered the tonkatsu ramen (with an egg), and if you come here I would definitely recommend that. The broth is very deeply flavored, with the perfect amount of pork fat flavor and lots of garlic which gives it a beautiful, rich taste. The thin noodles are cooked perfectly, and the chashu is so tender and flavorful, by FAR the best I’ve ever had. Typically chashu is overcooked and becomes chewy and tough, but the fat on this was perfectly rendered and I even got extra after trying it (which I recommend doing). There’s also a vegan ramen which is also very good, very impressive for something with no animal products.

Enjoyed the Spicy Miso with extra Chashu and added egg, chips and dip (so good), and Chashu bowl. Was a great time. Recommend to anyone ready for lovely ramen night. We went on a cold, grey day and it was nearly perfect.
