I’m subletting a house and the garage door came off the track. I felt like I needed to have a professional fix it instead of trying to do it myself. They sent Roy Israel out. The work he did seemed fine and fixed the problem in less than an hour. I was charged $400 for this, which feels very expensive. My bigger issue is that Roy tried to sell me on replacing the whole door, and alternately on replacing more parts than were needed. He was trying to get me to spend thousands of dollars even though I explained to him that I lost my house in the fire, I was only here temporarily, and that I needed to just do the minimum to fix the door. I feel like because it’s a nice house in a nice neighborhood he saw $ and tried to take advantage of the situation. I would get multiple bids before trusting their opinion. Does not seem trustworthy.
