NatalieI'm on a mission to find the best cafe in 626 to have a working day, and this one I have mixed feelings about...The breakfast burrito is a great deal (only $8 and very tasty). But I truly don't appreciate that my HOT flat white was served in a GLASS cup...very odd. Is it too much to ask these days that a hot espresso drink be served in a nice large mug if I'm dining in? Overall, the indoor space is large and bright, with ample seating when I was there. There's also a convenient free parking lot in the back (although I did snag the last spot...). I was not a fan of the turkey sandwich, so I won't be ordering that one again. My biggest complaint is that there is NO menu displayed on the wall nor do they offer paper copies of the menu on the counter. All they have is their items listed on 3 sheets of laminated paper. So when I took the sheets back to my table (so that my group could decide what we wanted to order), an employee came up to our table and requested I return the sheets to the counter since another customer needed to see it in order to place her order. Really? You don't have more than 1 copy of the menu in the ENTIRE store? Very strange. Plus I sensed attitude, not only from the employee who did this but the other ones too (when I asked for a box). Overall weird vibes but the food itself was good, so we'll see.
NiI’ve been a loyal customer of Rosebud Coffee for many years, and it’s still one of my favourite coffee shops in Pasadena. The back parking lot is such an underrated convenience, and the atmosphere is exactly why I keep coming back. The patrons are always polite and quiet, making it a wonderful place to read, work, or simply slow down for a while. The staff are consistently friendly and knowledgeable without ever being pretentious. Today I ordered the pomegranate black tea, and I was reminded of one of the little details I appreciate most: they actually take the time to brew it properly, so there’s no tea bag left sitting in my bottle! Another thing I love is their sustainability effort—they give you a $0.50 credit for bringing your own mug or bottle. I usually just add that credit back into the tip jar. Bring your own cup and help reduce waste. Small habits like that make a difference. Rosebud has been getting the little things right for years, and that’s why I keep coming back.
Andrew TorosianRosebud Coffee has a lot going for it. The decor is fantastic, with plenty of plants and cool merchandise. There are lots of tables to sit at, both inside and on the outside patio. A neat feature is the separate brewery inside, complete with an alcoholic bar. Plus, there's a huge parking lot behind the shop, which is super convenient. Most importantly, my latte with oat milk was delicious. However, there are a few things I disliked. Although they have WiFi, they turn it off on weekends to encourage conversation between guests. While I enjoyed my visit without my laptop, I would have liked the option to bring it on a weekend if I wanted to step out of the house. They also place little boards on specific tables indicating that they are laptop-free zones, which feels a bit intrusive. The staff at the counter was friendly and great, but the rest of the staff didn't seem to be taking their shifts seriously. You have to stand very close to the order area to hear your name called because most of the staff just call names casually, except for one gentleman who actually yelled out names. The rest were chatting amongst themselves, with nothing to do, which was a bit odd. I want to like this place and maybe it was just an off day. I'll try coming back on a weekday and hope to update my review with more stars because I'm new to the area and looking for a regular coffee spot.
funningI was in the Pasadena area and found this spot nearby. A solid spot to get a great cup of coffee. I ordered their latte with almond milk and it was delicious. Solid flavor and perfect temperature. This spot is a pretty big space for coffee. I’d definitely come back here again and try their other menu items.
Geri MoormanWe're from Sydney, Australia and found a great coffee here while visiting our daughter in Pasadena - so it became our regular spot. We normally have a latte at home but in the US they normally have more milk in the proportions - so we after discussion with the barista we went for the cappuccino - and it was spot on strength for us. Plenty of seating - outdoors too front and back. V relaxed vibe. Busier with laptop workers Mon-Fri but still no problem to sit in.
