Maria CoronadoWas walking by and the menu looked nice so I gave it a shot, I had this cute 3 cheese avocado toast which was delicious and a great portion too. I also had a very nice cup of coffee. All tased so fresh! I wished I lived closer to come here more often.
Vikas KathepalliRude service, misleading menu descriptions, and zero willingness to accommodate customers. The experience was completely opposite of what the photos and reviews suggest. Full review: Very disappointing experience. We went in expecting a normal Pasadena style breakfast spot, but the experience was the complete opposite of what the menu and photos suggest. The first issue started with the drinks. Coffee was served with only pre-packaged non-dairy creamer. When we politely asked if dairy creamer was available, we were told they only had the non-dairy packets. That’s fine, but when we asked if the coffee could simply be replaced with fresh orange juice instead, the owner rudely refused and just said “nope.” Then the food arrived within about 5 minutes of ordering, which immediately made it obvious nothing was freshly prepared. The “Classic Breakfast” menu description and photos clearly show it comes with a salad. What actually came out was a plate missing the salad entirely, replaced by a tiny cup of what looked like old coleslaw. When we asked about it, the owner’s response was simply: “This is all we have, sorry.” The eggs were also completely dried out, which explains how the food came out so quickly. We also ordered chilaquiles with chicken. The photos show shredded chicken, but what was served looked like random chopped pieces of what seemed like store-bought chicken instead. It didn’t resemble the dish shown on the menu at all especially surprising when the dish is priced at $22 and the place is clearly trying to position itself as a more upscale breakfast spot in Pasadena. At that point, nothing on the table had been touched neither the drinks nor the food. We respectfully asked if the order could be canceled given the issues. The response again was dismissive: “Nope. Take it or leave it.” So we left it. We simply left the food on the table untouched and walked out. To make things even more unpleasant, we accidentally forgot a bag inside. The owner came outside carrying it, and when we thanked him, his response was: “Try being better people.” Another thing that stood out is that the owner did not seem familiar with the typical restaurant culture in the Pasadena area. Restaurants here are usually very accommodating and service oriented, especially when customers politely raise concerns. That kind of hospitality was completely missing here. Honestly, it’s hard to reconcile this experience with the reviews this place has. The behavior, the food quality, and the menu mismatch were completely opposite of what those reviews suggest. It honestly makes the ratings feel suspicious or inflated. We’re locals, and this is not what a typical Pasadena breakfast experience looks like. It felt like a place that recently added a breakfast menu and spent money trying to create a certain vibe, but without actually delivering the food quality or service that comes with it. Definitely not a place we’d return to or recommend it
